It’s goodbye to long queues as Regional Transport Office (RTO) services will go online from Tuesday. Learner’s licence, driving licence, vehicle fitness and registration certificates and others can now be availed online.
A single online receipt system has been introduced by the Commerce and Transport Department. This online process will help save time and reduce manual work.
Fees for licence and other applications can be paid online via a single click.
On December 1, people in the Odisha capital had to wait for more than six hours to pay service charges. Following which police had to intervene.
The new system will rule out these problems and people can pay the fees online at the comfort of their home or office.
Plans are afoot to make traffic rule violators pay challans online or at any bank counters.
