Bhubaneswar: People can now seek permission for marriages and funerals over phone without visiting the police station.
With an aim to further ease the process of obtaining permissions for such function, Bhubaneswar Urban Police District (UPD) has released phone numbers for the purpose.
Informing about this, Bhubaneswar DCP Umashankar Dash said “Permission for marriages and death-related rituals are being issued by the office of Bhubaneswar DCP over phone. People are requested to dial 100 or call our Licensing Cell on mobile phone number 8144207100.”
People can send their requests for permission on WhatsApp too on the mobile phone number.
Dah said, “We shall provide you with the format for the licensing and upon receipt of the filled up application we shall issue the licence through WhatsApp of which the applicant can take a printout or keep the soft copy for use at venue, travel etc,” the DCP explained.
