Bhubaneswar: After two-week dry spell, the rain clouds will again hover over Odisha brining in rain accompanied by thunderstorm in several districts for three days from February 23.
The India Meteorological Department has attributed it to passage of a western disturbance and low level southeasterly/easterly wind flow and strong moisture convergence.
It has forecast rain and thunderstorm activity in coastal Odisha, north interior Odisha and south interior Odisha between February 23 and 25.
Yellow warning (thunderstorm with lightning) has been issued Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Nayagarh, Angul and Dhenkanal districts from February 24 to February 25.
Thunderstorm with lightning warning has also been issued for Boudh and Kandhamal.
Some isolated places in Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Puri are likely to receive heavy rainfall from February 25 till 8.30 am of February 26.
February 23
Light to moderate rain/thundershower very likely to occur at one or two places in Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Baragarh, Sambalpur and Mayurbhanj districts.
February 24
Light to moderate rain/thundershower likely to occur at many places in north interior Odisha and at a few places in north coastal Odisha, Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh and at one or two places in the rest districts of the state.
February 25
Light to moderate rain/thundershower expected at most places in coastal Odisha and many places in North interior Odisha and at a few places in South interior Odisha.
