Ghaziabad: In an appalling incident, the body of a 58-year-old businessman who died of coronavirus, was left half-burnt after the electric crematorium went inoperative midway during the cremation, reported ANI.

After he passed away on Monday, the body was brought to the crematorium in Hindon following the coronavirus protocols. Reportedly, family members of the deceased alleged that he was to be cremated on Monday but his body lay in half-burnt condition till Wednesday.

According to the report, the scorched remains of the body lay there for over 29 hours after the technical glitch. The report further quoted family members as saying that following the customs that do not allow relatives to eat until the body is cremated, they starved for over a day.

The body was finally cremated on Wednesday afternoon. The deceased man was a resident of Indirapuram. The body was taken to the electric crematorium in Ghaziabad at around 11 am on Monday.
