Giant Python Rescued From A Village Of Odisha’s Sambalpur District
Sambalpur: In a rare incident, a giant snake was found moving in the backyard of a villager in the district.
According to reports, the villager informed others after spotting the reptile in his backyard in Ulrumunda village under Kuchinda block of the district. Since it had never been found in the area earlier, the villagers gathered at the spot.
Panicked by the size of the huge snake, and unable to decide what to do, they informed the forest officials of the area.
Snake helpline Founder Subhendu Mallick identified the snake as an Indian Rock Python.
Kuchinda Forest ranger Gagan Bihari Mallik along with Kusumi Section forester Aamir Jayapuria and watcher rushed to the village and rescued the python.
According to Forest officials, it was less than 3 years old and weighed over 25 kg.
Later, they released the python in Baraghat forest.
