Cuttack: The Commissionerate Police on Wednesday detained a girl for allegedly throwing acid on a youth at Shikari Sahi under Jagatpur police limits late on Tuesday.
According to sources, the girl threw acid on the youth during an altercation with him in the night.
Hearing the youth scream, the locals rushed to the spot and admitted him to the SCB Medical College and Hospital.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the girl was in love with the youth for a long time.
