Balasore: Twenty-one days after the annual matric examination, an answer script was reportedly retrieved from a Class X girl student in Odisha’s Balasore district.
According to sources, the student appeared for Mathematics exam on March 20 at Damodar Government High School at Jamujhadi under Simulia block in the district. She then allegedly took the answer script home instead of submitting it with the invigilator.
The incident came to the fore when the evaluator at an evaluation centre at Salepur in Cuttack district found that the answer script was missing though the examinee had signed her attendance for that day. The exam centre authorities then contacted the headmaster of the student’s school. Following which, an enquiry was conducted and the sheet was later sent to the evaluation centre.
The complainant, Suresh Chandra Sahu, blamed the school superintendent and authorities for the goof-up.
Simulia Block Education Officer Prakash Chandra Mahalik said necessary action will be taken after an investigation.
The student and the headmaster have, however, denied the reports.
