Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday approved a proposal for establishment of a ‘Global Visa Application Centre’ in Bhubaneswar.
The proposed visa centre will operate from Babasaheb Ambedkar Bus Terminal building at Baramunda for which the government will provide 3,000 square feet of space, a CMO release said.
It further stated that residents of the state earlier had to travel to other cities like Kolkata, Delhi, Hyderabad to obtain international visas. “There has been a long-standing demand from the people of the state for a visa centre in Bhubaneswar. Acknowledging it, the Chief Minister has approved this important decision,” it added.
