Mumbai: This is a feel-good news which will warm people’s hearts at a time when there is so much negativity, crime and violence around us.
Months after announcing they were headed for a divorce, Sushmita Sen’s brother Rajeev Sen and TV actress Charu Asopa have decided to give their marriage another shot.
The couple posted a joint statement on social media on Thursday to share the news of their decision, saying that they had decided to keep their “marriage for good”.
Charu and Rajeev, who had tied the knot in 2019, have a nine-month-old daughter named Ziana.
Charu posted a picture in which she and Ziana twinned in pink tie-and-dye salwar suits, while Rajeev paired a printed shirt with trousers.
“Marriages are made in heaven but it is left to us to make it work. Yes we went ahead and announced that we are ending our marriage and we realised that we had reached the dead end and nothing beyond. Divorce was an option we were considering and we wont deny that.. Happy to announce that we have decided to keep our Marriage for good,” Charu wrote alongside the photo.
Explaining what convinced them to stay together, Charu further wrote: “We both are blessed with a beautiful daughter Ziana & we wish to give her the very best as parents . Her upbringing & happiness is our number one priority… We want to thank all our fans for always supporting us as a couple & never giving up on us .. Thank you everyone for blessing Ziana with so much love,” the note concluded, undersigned by Charu and Rajeev.
A day earlier, Charu had posted a picture of the couple cuddling Ziana in front of Lord Ganesh and wishing everyone ‘Happy Ganesh Chaturthi.’
A few months ago, Charu said there had been problems in the marriage from the beginning. She and Rajeev gave separate interviews in July confirming that they were headed for a divorce.
Even last month, Charu had said her mind was made up and ‘only a miracle’ could save their marriage.
