Bhubaneswar: Gopalpur Beach Festival in the seaside town in Odisha’s Ganjam district will be held from January 25-28, Collector Dibya Jyoti Parida informed.
“The date has been finalised for national-level Pallishree Mela at the same venue for four days,” he said after a preparatory meeting on Wednesday.
Self-Help Groups (SHGs) from Odisha and outside the state will display their products at the Pallishree Mela. Several cultural troupes from Ganjam and other districts of Odisha will perform during the four-day beach carnival, he added.
The collector has asked the officials of different departments to make the necessary arrangements.
Berhampur SP Saravana Vivek said that separate arrangements will be made for parking, crowd management and the stage for smooth conduct of the festival. “The entire festival will be under CCTV camera surveillance. If required, security personnel will be mobilised from other districts to manage the influx of people,” he said.
There will be adequate space in between the stalls to avoid fire mishaps, he added.
In December 2022, the beach festival had spanned over five days.
