Chhatrapur: Gopalpur Ports Ltd (GPL), as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), celebrated ‘Daan Utsav’, the national ‘festival of giving’. The week-long festival began on October 2.
Many GPL employees donated clothes, winter clothes, dry food items, books and study materials, toys etc. The concluding ceremony was held on October 11 in the presence of GPL CEO V J Rao and other senior port officials.
Ajay Kumar Mishra, vice president (HR/IR), GPL, said that the act of giving has no boundaries.
‘Daan Utsav’ gives every Indian an opportunity to give back to society. It was started in 2009 and is held every year during October 2-8.
It is an opportunity that allows people from all walks of life, from shopkeepers and top executives to schoolchildren and ageing grandparents to give back in their own ways.
