Gopalpur Port Organises Free Mobile Healthcare Drive In Odisha’s Ganjam

Chhatrapur: As a part and parcel of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR),

Gopalpur Port Limited (GPL) organised a free mobile healthcare service at Arjyapalli village in Odisha’s Ganjam district.

The CSR activity followed GPL’s ‘Concern for Community Health’ drive earlier, in the shape of three free mobile healthcare camps for people in Haripur-Bandar village, Kalipalli Higher Primary School and in K Arjyapalli village.

Saturday’s healthcare service was conducted at Arjyapalli Govt High School.

Doctors from different fields like Gynaecology, Medicine & Paediatric, nurses, pharmacists and expert medical technicians took part in the drive.

Preliminary medical consultations, blood tests, blood pressure monitoring and basic check-ups were provided free of cost by GPL, with around 150 villagers discussing their health issues with the doctors.

Employees of GPL also volunteered to ensure successful conduct of the health camp.

“Our CSR programme for healthcare named ‘Concern for Community Health’ gives us an opportunity to serve the people who need basic healthcare facilities. It’s reflected in our endeavours to better up the collective health status in the regions where we operate,” said V Janardhana Rao, CEO, Gopalpur Port.

Senior Vice President (HR & IR) Ajay Kumar Mishra stated that health is one of the core thrust areas of GPL’s CSR activities.

He informed that more plantation drives will be undertaken in the peripheral regions of the Port during the current financial year, adding that cooperation and involvement of local villagers has greatly inspired GPL management.

Among others who attended the healthcare camp were Aryapalli Panchayat sarpanch Trilochan Behera, Gopalpur Port CFO Vikash Kumar and AVP Chittaranjan Bahinipati.
