Gopalpur Port Organises Mobile Health Service Drive In Odisha’s Ganjam

Chhatrapur: Gopalpur Ports Limited (GPL) under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) conducted a mobile health care service at K Aryapalli village in Odisha’s Ganjam district on Saturday.

After organising two mega mobile health care service programmes at Haripur-Bandar village and Kalipalli Higher Primary School under its “Concern for Community Health” drive, the health care service was conducted at Kalyan Mandap in K Aryapally village.

The health care camp was attended by Sharmistha Pradhan, chairperson of Chhatrapur NAC; Ajay Kumar Mishra, vice-president (HR & IR); Vikash Kumar, CFO, Gopalpur Port; Subash Chandra Sahu and Prashant Kumar Kar.

Speaking on the occasion, VJ Rao, Chief Executive Officer of Gopalpur Port, said the port authorities are consistently trying to improve the living standards of the communities and in the coming days this service will be extended to more people. “We are committed to provide good healthcare services to the people residing in the peripheral areas of Gopalpur Port,” he said.

Ajay Kumar Mishra, vice-president (HR & IR) said the mobile healthcare service is a unique initiative to make health services accessible to the people of GPL peripheral.

On the request of Aryapalli village people, a tree plantation programme was organised in which the people of the area and the port staff planted trees.  Mishra said more tree plantation programmes will be taken up near Aryapalli village to protect the coast in future.

In this health care camp, free diagnostic, tests, counseling and medicines were provided to the villagers by Obstetricians, Paediatricians and general medicine doctors. About 200 people discussed their health problems with the doctors.

The officials of the port and volunteers participated in activities to clean the surrounding area and create awareness towards continuous cleanliness during a clean-up drive organised on the occasion.
