Mumbai: Govinda’s wife Sunita Ahuja, known for her bold comments and straightforward nature, recently opened up about her married life and relationship with the Bollywood actor.
In a conversation with Hauterrfly, Sunita revealed she still cannot believe that she is married to Govinda. She also shared that she addresses her husband as ‘Abbe’, with abuses and slangs being part of their conversation at home.
“I still don’t feel like we are husband and wife. I still address him as ‘Abbe’ and he also addresses me the same way. That’s how we talk to each other. Gali-galoch is a part of our conversation… I sometimes ask him ‘are you my husband? I still can’t believe you are my husband’,” Sunita revealed.
Sharing her thoughts on infidelity and cheating in marriages, Sunita said husbands are never innocent and the other woman will never leave a married man if his wife leaves him.
“I would like to fold my hands and tell women that don’t ever say that your partner is innocent (doesn’t cheat). If he does it, it will become so bad and no matter how hard you try to get rid of her, she won’t leave him for years. Even if you leave him, that woman won’t,” said the actor’s wife.
Sunita’s daughter Tina, sitting next to her during the interview, revealed that her mother is deeply in love with her dad.
In an interview with Stardust many years ago, Govinda had shared that he wanted to marry Neelam but Sunita had coaxed him into marrying her.
“I asked Sunita to leave me. I broke off my engagement with her. And had Sunita not called me after five days and coaxed me into it again, I would probably have married Neelam,” Govinda had confessed.
Sunita and Govinda tied the knot on March 11, 1987, and have two kids — daughter Tina and son Yashvardhan.
