Govt Caps Trade Margin On Five Medical Devices
New Delhi: The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA), on Saturday, capped the trade margin for five medical devices pulse oximeter, blood pressure monitoring machine, nebulizer, digital thermometer, and glucometers.
The cap will be effective from July 20 and hugely reduce prices of medical devices, said the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers in a statement released Saturday.
The margin was capped up to 70 per cent on price to distributor (PTD) levels. After the latest move, a total of 684 products, brands of such medical devices have witnessed downward revision of prices, the ministry added.
The maximum reduction has been reported in the prices of imported pulse oximeters.
