Bhubaneswar: Odisha government has decided to facilitate issuing land pattas to all its departments by December this year.
This was stated by Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari while speaking to media persons on Sunday.
The minister said the pattas would be issued to the departments so that those can construct own buildings and operate from there instead of functioning from rented accommodations. The process in this regard has already been started by his department, he added.
Stating that the whole process of issuing revenue pattas would be streamlined, he said the long-standing demand of the people displaced by Hirakud dam project in Sambalpur district would also be fulfilled. “The displaced persons, registered in government records, would be issued permanent land deeds. Any kind of bottlenecks in the process will be resolved and stringent action taken against anybody harassing the displaced persons,” he added.
The minister further said the government would take all possible steps to minimise the losses of the people due to natural disasters. “Since our state is prone to natural calamities like cyclone and flood, we need to prepare a permanent system which will help bring down the losses sustained by the people in the disaster-prone areas,” he said.
If necessary, the government would adopt the latest technology on disaster management and take the help of national and international experts in the field, he added.
