New Delhi: The Union government on Wednesday raised minimum support price (MSP) of paddy by Rs 72 to Rs 1,940 per quintal.
Dispelling protesting farmers’ apprehensions about MSP, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said: “MSP (on farm crops) is there, is being hiked and will continue in future as well”.
Besides MSP of paddy, the Cabinet also hiked rates of other kharif crops for the 2021-22 crop year (July-June). MSP of bajra has been increased from Rs 2,150 to Rs 2,250 per quintal.
