Govt Official Caught By Vigilance While Taking Rs 20,000 Bribe In Odisha’s Jajpur

Jajpur: Vigilance officials on Tuesday caught the Assistant Director, Handicraft (Jajpur Road), while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000.

The official, Pravat Mishra, had allegedly demanded the money from a person to clear payment of his pending bills amounting to Rs 76,500. Mishra was accepting the money through a contractual employee in his office when he was caught.

Simultaneous searches are being carried out on his properties:

* House No. 209, Dual Height Apartment, Patia, Bhubaneswar

* Rented house at Badambadi, Cuttack

* Paternal house at Sundargarh

* Residential house of contractual employee in Jajpur
