Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has taken steps to rope in non-resident Odias (NROs) in different countries to participate in the first Biswa Odia Bhasa Sammilani (World Odia Language Conference).
The government is making arrangements to enable around 13 lakh Pravasi Odias to participate in the conference online. Already 17 associations of Odias staying abroad have been contacted for participation.
These associations have expressed willingness to take active part as several linguists, historians, researchers and experts from around the world will present their fact-based papers during the conference.
The government has opened a dedicated website www.worldodiaconference.org for registration of the participants in the conference. The associations outside the country can submit the write-ups related to Odia language and Odisha published in their respective country on the website.
Considering the request of the associations, the government has sought messages and wishes from them from Monday.
The conference is scheduled to start at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar from February 3.
