Bhubaneswar: Two batches of students of Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital — faculty of medicine of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) Deemed to be University (SOA) – were presented their MBBS and postgraduate degrees at a special ceremony here on Thursday.
Those who received their degrees were MBBS students of 2014-15 and 2018-19 batches, and students from 2020-21 batch who pursued courses in different super speciality subjects.
SOA Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda administered the oath to the successful graduates and postgraduates.
Urging all pass-outs to serve humanity as doctors with compassion, Prof. Nanda said they should feel proud to have passed out of a university ranked 14th in the country by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF).
SOA Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr) Prasanjeet Mohanty, Controller of Examination Prof. Manjula Das, Dean of IMS and SUM Hospital Prof. (Dr) Sanghamitra Mishra, Additional Dean Prof. (Dr) Ajay Jena, Medical Superintendent Prof. (Dr) Pusparaj Samantasinhar, Dean (Students’ Welfare) Prof. Jyoti Ranjan Das, Heads of different departments, members of the Academic Council and faculty members were present.
