Grand BJB Reunion: Hundreds Of Alumni Recall Joyous Past At Bhubaneswar Campus

Bhubaneswar: In a grand get-together, hundreds of alumni of Buxi Jagabandhu Bidyadhar (BJB) College, Bhubaneswar got together here on the college campus here on Sunday.

In a special session held at the administrative block auditorium, BJB Friends, as the alumni association of BJB College is called, recollected their joyous past.

Odisha’s minister for Science & Technology Ashok Panda, Rajya Sabha MP Amar Pattnaik and Commissioner of Police Soumendra Kumar Priyadarshi addressed the gathering as premier alumni of the renowned institution.

Panda highlighted the indispensability of a dedicated auditorium for ‘BJB Friends’, while Priyadarshi emphasized on the glorious past and value-based education.

Buxi Jyoti, a ceremonial lamp, was lit to pay homage to the valiant hero Buxi Jagabandhu.

An interactive session was held where the BJBians shared their experiences of the college, what they learnt and their achievements in their professional careers.

Padma Shri Aditya Prasad Das, a 1971-alumnus, was honoured for his lifetime contribution in the field of Science and Technology.

Anukampa Das, a meritorious student, was presented a special trophy for her multifarious achievements by former minister and deputy Speaker Bibhuti Bhusan Singh Mardaraj, and his son and former MLA of Khandapada Siddharth Sekhar Singh.

Chairperson of BJB Friends Debashis Pattnaik, secretary Satyabrata Dhupal and BJB College Principal Niranjan Mishra interacted with the alumnus.
