Cuttack: The Government of Odisha will have three celebrations on March 5 – Panchayati Raj Day, birth anniversary of former Chief Minister late Biju Patnaik and completion of 20 years of BJD government in Odisha.
Panchayati Raj Day will be celebrated in a grand manner at the iconic Bali Yatra Ground. Earlier, it was celebrated at the Janata Maidan, Bhubaneswar.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is scheduled to address the occasion and over 60,000 people are expected to participate in the event.
He is likely to highlight the welfare schemes launched by the state government during the last 20 years and their success and is also scheduled to lay the foundation stone for the expansion project of SCB Medical College and Hospital here.
A “Shradhanjali Sabha” will be held to commemorate the 104th birth anniversary of Biju Patnaik. A voluntary Blood Donation camp Jiban Bindu programme will be held jointly by Biju Yuva Janata Dal and Biju Chhatra Janata Dal at the same date, time and place. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will be present at both the programmes.
