Bhubaneswar: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has directed universities and colleges to grant provisional admission to under-graduate (UG) and post-graduate (PG) programmes for the 2020-21 session.

In a letter to all university vice-chancellors and college principals, UGC Secretary Prof Rajnish Jain said that the admission to the UG and PG programmes for the 2020-21 session may be completed by August 31. However, if the necessity arises, provisional admissions may also be made and relevant documents of qualifying examination may be accepted up to September 30.

The UGC secretary has further said that the principal secretary/secretary to the Governors of all states and Lt. Governors of all Union Territories, principal secretary/secretary, Department of Higher Education all state governments and Union Territories have been apprised of the decision taken in this regard.
