Berhampur: The engineer, who was critically injured in the explosion in Grasim Industries Ltd, died while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Bhubaneswar on Sunday.
With the engineer’s death, the toll in the incident has gone up to two. On October 9, a helper, who also sustained injuries in the blast, died in a hospital in the capital city.
The engineer, Abhisek Pal of Cuttack and three employees had sustained serious injuries while they were working near the steam pipe of the caustic soda producing plant of Grasim Industries Ltd Chemical Division in Ganjam district the exploded on October 6.
The Grasim Industries, belonging to Aditya Birla Group, is the only company to produce caustic soda in Odisha.
