Group Clash Rocks Bhubaneswar College, Over 15 Students Injured

Bhubaneswar: The authorities of BJB Autonomous College in the city called in the police after a clash between students on Thursday.

Sources said there was an altercation between senior and junior students of Ambedkar Hostel and Kharavela Hostel on Wednesday. The matter was resolved in the presence of police, but it again erupted on Thursday morning. Over 15 students were injured when inmates of the two hostels clashed.

According to campus sources, senior students from Ambedkar Hostel barged into Kharavela Hostel and ransacked rooms and personal articles of junior students. They also ransacked the hostel mess, toilets and smashed window panes.

Following information, the college authorities informed the Commissionerate Police about the incident.

Soon, two platoons of force were deployed on the college premises.
