Barabanki: In a gruesome incident, a man from Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki district murdered a young ice-cream seller over a minor spat, severed his head and carried it back home, before sitting down to cook a meal as if nothing had happened.
Shankar Yadav (50) has been arrested and a investigation is on to find out what actually led to the murder.
As on most days, Bablu (25) had gone to the Parsawal village to sell ice-cream. While doing the rounds, he became involved in a verbal altercation with Yadav, as reported by NDTV.
Reports say that after an exchange of words, Yadav attacked Bablu with a sickle, slitting his throat and severing his head in public view. Yadav then picked up the severed head and took it with him to his house in the same village. According to the police, on reaching there, he started cooking.
When the police team entered the house, the accused continued to cook, with Bablu’s severed head lying nearby. He was arrested and the murder weapon seized. The severed head, along with the rest of the body was sent for an autopsy.
It has come to be known that Bablu was the eldest of three brothers. He is survived by a wife and two children. He supported his family through manual labour and selling ice-cream.
