New Delhi: The highly-awaited Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) is scheduled to be launch in late 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, offering major upgrades from GTA 5.
According to video game publisher Rockstar Games, GTA 6 will take players back to Vice City and may be released on September 17, 2025 — exactly 12 years after GTA 5.
The game will be available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, but the PC version may not arrive until 2026.
However, reports suggest that GTA 6 will not be released on PS4 or Xbox One, as it is designed for next-gen consoles.
GTA 5 vs GTA 6
When GTA 5 was launched in 2013, it was priced at Rs 3,499 for consoles and Rs 2,499 for PC. Over time, discounts and re-releases made the game more affordable. It featured three main characters—Michael, Franklin, and Trevor — each with its unique storyline. The game also introduced an expansive open world, engaging missions, and the classic five-star ‘Wanted’ system. However, NPC AI, physics, and environmental interactions were relatively basic compared to today’s standards.
The GTA 6 is expected to be much more expensive, with the standard edition likely to cost Rs 5,999 and premium versions Rs 7,299.
One major change in GTA 6 will be the introduction of Lucia, the first female protagonist, who will share the story with a male partner, bringing new storytelling and gameplay mechanics. The game will take place in Leonida, a fictional region inspired by Florida, featuring Vice City, swamps, beaches, and urban landscapes.
GTA 6 will require high-end hardware for smooth gameplay. For the recommended settings, players will need an Intel i9-10900K / Ryzen 5 5900X, RTX 3080 / RX 6800XT, 32GB RAM, DirectX 12, and a 150GB NVMe SSD, running Windows 11 64-bit.
Rockstar is making huge improvements to NPC AI, driving physics, combat, and stealth elements, making the game world more realistic and immersive than ever before.
