Berhampur: A ‘Gupchup’ vendor sustained injuries as another vendor shot at him over old rivalry in Ganjam district on Saturday evening.
According to sources, Dhyanendra Singh of Madhya Pradesh, who sells ‘Gupchup’ in Balipadar under Buguda police station, had a business dispute with his friend Bikash who is also a ‘Gupchup’ vendor.
On the day, Bikash took Dhyanendra on a bike to Rumagarh village near Balipadar on some pretext and shot at him on the way. Dhyanendra sustained bullet injuries on his stomach and was admitted in Balipadar PHC. He was shifted to MKCG hospital in Berhampur and later to SCB hospital in Cuttack as his condition deteriorated.
Bikash has been absconding since the incident, the sources said.
