Bhubaneswar: Following the Centre’s announcement to open gymnasiums from August 5, All Odisha Gym Association has requested the state government to issue similar permission to them.
Stating that regular exercise can help improve immunity, president of the association Satyajit urged the government to consider the livelihood of the trainers and other workers engaged in the gyms across the State.
He assured the government of strictly adhering to COVID-19 protocols like using face maks and social distancing. Besides, he said they would adopt other measures like slot booking to avoid overcrowding, allowing limited members at a time, sanitization of the area and regular hand washing.
As part of lockdown measures for COVID-19, gyms and fitness centres across the country have remained closed since March. However, on Thursday, the Centre allowed opening of gymnasiums outside containment zones as part of graded reopening of the economy under Unlock 03.
