Half Of Odisha’s Bargarh District To Remain Shut For 9 Days

Bargarh: Amid rising COVID-19 cases, the Bargarh administration on Wednesday declared a nine-day shutdown in half of the district from Thursday.

The entire area of Bargarh sub-division, Sohela and Bijepur tehsil and Padmapur Notified Area Council will remain shut from July 23 9 pm to July 31 9 pm.

Collector Jyoti Ranjan Pradhan said that the people in the shutdown areas of the district have been asked to remain indoors.

All trading and business establishments, government and private offices will remain closed while there will be no vehicular movement except for the transportation of essential goods.

However, health services, medicine outlets and milk supply will continue as usual, he added.

Bargarh has so far reported 299 COVID-19 cases. With one death and 199 recoveries, the district now has 99 active cases.
