Bhubaneswar: Sunidhi Chauhan turned a year older and is celebrating her 38th birthday on Saturday. A versatile singer, she has given us some of the best songs, over 2000, across genres in the past 25 years.
Sunidhi is popular for songs such as ‘Bhage Re Man’, ‘Crazy Kiya Re’, ‘Beedi Jalayle’, ‘Chhaliya’, ‘Kaisi Paheli’ and ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’. Though she started with ‘Ladki Deewani Dekho’ from Shastra (1996) at the age of 11, ‘Ruki Ruki Thi Zindagi’ and ‘Main Mast’ from Mast proved to be the game-changer for her.
However, two prominent music directors had asked her to ‘pack (her) bags and go home’ as they felt her voice was masculine. They approached her to sing for them once she achieved success, she told the Hindustan Times.
Besides Hindi, Sunidhi has sung songs in several regional languages, including Odia.
