Haters Called Out For Trending ‘Arrest Kohli’ After Drunk Fan Murders Rohit Sharma’s Supporter

Bhubaneswar: Arrest Virat Kohli began trending on Twitter on Friday after a drunk fan of his allegedly murdered Rohit Sharma’s supporter in Tamil Nadu.

A 21-year-old man was arrested on Thursday for allegedly murdering his friend after a drunken fight insinuated between the two over who was a better cricketer – Rohit Sharma or Virat Kohli.

The deceased and accused have been identified as P Vignesh (24) and S Dharmaraj respectively.

The incident took place on Tuesday night when the avid cricket fans, who hail from Poyyur village in Ariyalur district, were apparently discussing cricket in an open area near SIDCO Industrial Estate, near Mallur, police said.

“Vignesh had the habit of body shaming Dharmaraj, who was a stammerer. On that day he had made some remarks comparing the RCB team to the speaking difficulty of Dharmaraj. This infuriated Dharmaraj who attacked Vignesh with a bottle and later hit him with a cricket bat on the head. He then fled the spot,” The Indian Express quoted officials as saying.
