Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Havildar, Constable and Sepoy Mahasangh on Sunday demanded a Crime Branch (CB) probe into the assault on two constables inside the High Court premises in Cuttack on October 29.
Briefing mediapersons here, president of the Mahasangh, Santosh Satpathy said that the Commissionerate Police are investigating the case. But the Mahasangh no longer trusts the Commissionerate Police since they have not taken any steps since the last two weeks.
The Mahasangh has urged the Commissionerate Police to hand over the case to the Crime Branch.
“We also request the High Court to take up our case by getting it monitored by a sitting Judge in the same manner in which Justice CR Das is monitoring the case on police assault on a lawyer, ” Satpathy pointed out.
The Mahasangh has also urged the Cuttack DCP to initiate action against the IIC of the Chauliaganj police station, he added.
