Bhubaneswar: The Orissa High Court on Monday appointed senior lawyer NK Mohanty as the amicus curiae to submit a report on the status of the Sun Temple at Konark.
The court took a decision after hearing a PIL filed by one Dilip Mahapatra.
Claiming that the Cyclone Fani had caused extensive damage to the temple, the petitioner had sought the urgent intervention of the court in the matter.
The court directed Mohanty to visit the Sun temple and furnish a detailed report.
