Washington: In what is a worrying situation, a healthcare worker in Alaska developed severe allergic reaction shortly after receiving the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday evening. She had to be hospitalized overnight.
The middle-aged woman had no history of allergies or anaphylaxis, a severe and life-threatening allergic reaction.
After being administered with epinephrine, her health condition has been stable.
Earlier, similar reactions were observed in the UK and it was declared that anyone with severe allergies will not be given the Pfizer shot. However, the US FDA has not restricted the vaccine to anyone.
