Bhubaneswar: Shalini Sheetal has emerged as topper in the science stream of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class XII board exams in Odisha.
The results were announced on Thursday.
A student of Mother’s Public School, she has secured 488 marks out of 500.
“I have got 98.2 per cent. I am extremely grateful to our principal (Poly Patnaik) and all the teachers, who put in a lot of efforts to help me prepare well for the exam. They kept motivating me throughout the exam period and kept assuring me that I could do it. This really boosted my confidence,” said an elated Shalini.
The state topper said that she would pursue engineering in future. “I am interested in taking up Computer Science and am preparing for it,” she added.
A total of 12,05,484 students had appeared for the examination and 10,05,427 cleared it. The overall pass percentage is 83.4, which is a rise of 0.39 per cent compared to 2018.
