Bhubaneswar: The heat wave continued its march in Odisha with as many as 17 districts recording temperatures above 40 degree Celsius on Monday. While Boudh recorded the highest of 43 degree Celsius, the state capital was at second place with 42.5 degrees.
The others districts that recorded temperature above 40 degrees are: Balangir: 42.2; Angul 42.1; Nayagarh 42; Titilagarh 42; Talcher 41.6; Sundargarh 41.5; Jharsuguda 41.4; Baripada 41.2; Sambalpur 41.2; Sonepur 41; Bhawanipatna 41; Hirakud 40.9; Cuttack 40.2; Balasore 40.1 and Phulbani 40 degree Celsius.
The IMD also issued heat wave warning for the districts of Khurda, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Balasore till April 27 morning; Cuttack, Khurda and Dhenkanal til April 28 morning and advised people to avoid direct exposure to the sun.
