Heat Wave To Intensify In Odisha From Monday; IMD Issues Yellow Warning
Bhubaneswar: After a brief respite, heat wave is likely to intensify in Odisha, particularly the western region, from May 15, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Saturday.
Issuing a Yellow Warning about searing heat wave, the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar said the day temperature is likely to rise by 3 to 5 degree Celsius in different parts of the state from Monday.
Yellow Warning was issued for Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur and Sonepur districts on May 15, while heat wave is likely to prevail in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Angul, Sonepur, Deogarh, Boudh and Balangir on May 16.
Similarly, the MeT Centre issued Yellow Warning for heat wave in Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Boudh and Balangir districts on May 17.
Meanwhile, maximum temperatures witnessed marked fall in different parts of the state on Saturday. The highest maximum temperature of 41.6 degree Celsius was recorded at Jharsuguda during the day.
