Bhubaneswar: Heatwave condition continued to prevail in Odisha as 5 urban centres registered temperature of 40 degree Celsius or more in the last 24 hours.
According to the evening bulletin of the regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD), Titlagarh continued to be the hottest place in the state for third day with 41.4 degree Celsius. The town recorded 41 degree on Saturday.
Titlagarh was followed by another western Odisha town Balangir with 41 degree Celsius, while Angul recorded 40.1 and Boudh and Baripada 40 degree Celsius.
Seaside town Gopalpur in Ganjam district recorded the lowest maximum temperature of 31.2 degree Celsius during the period.
Twin Cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded maximum temperature of 37.6 degree and 37.2 degree Celsius respectively.
The Met office forecast that there will be no major change in maximum temperature (day temperature ) in the state during next 4-5 days.
It forecast that light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places in Ganjam, Gajapati and Rayagada districts on Monday. Similarly, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely at one or two places in Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Bhadrak and Balasore on Tuesday.
