Rayagada/Kandhamal: Heavy rainfall in the past 24 hours has disrupted road communication in south Odisha.
In Rayagada district, a temporary bridge over Kalyani river in Kalyansinghpur block was washed away by flash flood on Friday night, cutting off road connectivity to six panchayats.
Notably, a permanent bridge over the river was washed by floods in 2017. The temporary bridge was built to restore connectivity.
In Kandhamal district, a temporary culvert on National Highway-59 in Baliguda block was washed away, disrupting road connectivity to Kandhamal, Rayagada and Kalahandi districts.
