Berhampur: In view of possible flood-like situation due to heavy rainfall forecast, Odisha’s Ganjam district administration has cancelled the leave of all state government employees.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday issued a yellow warning and forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in the district in next two days. The administration anticipated that the heavy rain would lead to rise in water level of rivers flowing though the district and cause flood-like situation.
Considering this, Ganjam district collector Dibyajyoti Parida has cancelled the leave of the government officials till July 30. The officials have also been directed not to leave the district headquarters without permission.
In case of urgent need, the officials can go on leave with permission from the collector, said district emergency officer in an official notification.
