Heavy Rain Resumes In Odisha, Intense Spells Likely In Bhubaneswar Too; Alert Issued Till July 7

Bhubaneswar: Odisha is likely to experience heavy rainfall from July 3-7 under the influence of two cyclonic circulations over Manipur and Bangladesh, respectively, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Wednesday.

The weather agency has issued yellow warning for heavy rainfall at one or two places in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul and Keonjhar districts on July 3.

Bhubaneswar is also likely to experience cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershower.

Heavy rain may continue at one or two places in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur and Bargarh during the subsequent 24 hours (July 4).

While there are no weather warnings on July 5, heavy rain may resume at one or two places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Mayurbhanj, and Keonjhar districts on July 6. There is also a forecast for heavy rainfall at one or two places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada and Gajapati districts on July 7. Bhubaneswar is also likely to experience intense spells of rain on this day.

Light to moderate rain may also occur at many places in the state from July 3-9, it added.

Meanwhile, rainfall deficit in Odisha has dropped to 25%. The state has received 178.4 mm rainfall against its normal value of 238 mm between June 1 and July 3.
