Heavy Rain To Lash 12 Odisha Districts In Next 24 Hours; Know The Forecast Till August 6

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday issued heavy rainfall warning for 12 districts of Odisha in the next 24 hours under the influence of a low-pressure in the north Bay of Bengal.

In a mid-day bulletin, the IMD said that under the influence of a cyclonic circulation over the Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining Bangladesh and another cyclonic circulation over the north-east Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood, a low-pressure area will be formed over the north Bay of Bengal on August 4. This will trigger heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places across the state in the next 24 hours.

In view of the heavy rainfall in the state, IMD has issued yellow and orange warning for the following districts.

August 3
(Yellow warning)
Heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places in Ganjam, Balangir, Boudh, Kandhamal and Mayurbhanj.

Heavy rainfall at one or two places in Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh and Koraput.

Thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places in Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Kandhamal, Khurda, Nayagarh and Ganjam.

August 4
(Orange warning)
Heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Angul, Boudh and Dhenkanal.

(Yellow warning)
Heavy rainfall at one or two places in Kalahandi, Balangir, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar and Cuttack.

August 5
(Orange warning)
Heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places inf Bargarh, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh and Sonepur.

(Yellow warning)
Heavy rainfall at one or two places in Nuapada, Balangir, Angul and Keonjhar.

August 6
(Yellow warning)
Heavy rainfall at one or two places in Sundargarh, Keonjhar and Nabarangpur.

Due to inclement weather, IMD has advised the fishermen not to venture into the deep sea from August 4 to 6 as the surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph over the west-central and adjoining north Bay of Bengal will make the sea condition very rough.
