Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department has issued a nowcast warning for six districts of Odisha till 8.30 pm on Saturday.
Severe thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and surface wind speed 50-60 kmph and moderate to heavy rain with hail may occur at isolated places in Angul, Balasore, Khurda, Cuttack, Bhadrak and Mayurbhanj districts.
In a midday bulletin, the weather agency had warned of thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph in the afternoon/evening hours at one or two places of Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, and Jagatsinghpur districts till 8.30 am on Sunday. There was also a forecast for thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph in the afternoon/evening at one or two places in Balasore, Cuttack, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Rayagada, Koraput, Gajapati, Puri, and Khurda.
