Bhubaneswar: With fog and a drop in minimum temperatures already affecting normal life in Odisha, the regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) here on Wednesday issued yellow warning for 11 districts for the next two days.
According to the latest bulletin, heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places in Sundargarh, Keonjhar and Jharsuguda districts.
It has forecast thunderstorm with lightning and hail at one or two places in Deogarh, Sonepur, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Angul, Sundargarh, Kenojhar and Jharsuguda between 8.30 am of January 2 and 8.30 am of January 3.
From 8.30 am of January 3 till 8.30 am of January 4, thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal and Angul districts, it added.
The Met officer further predicted a gradual rise in the night temperature by 2-3 degrees. Shallow to moderate fog cover will be seen at one or two places in interior Odisha districts in the next 2-3 days, it added.
On Wednesday, Keonjhar was the coldest place at 6.8 degree Celsius followed by Angul (7.6), Talcher (8.9), Phulbani (9), Sonepur (9.6), Sundargarh (10), Balasore (10.1). Twin Cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 12.6 and 10.8 degree Celsius, respectively.
