Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall at one or two places in Odisha under the influence of a low-pressure area, which is most likely to form over the north Bay of Bengal on June 19.
According to the Monday’s mid-day bulletin, the south-west monsoon is active in Odisha and isolated heavy rainfall at some places with heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at one or two places over the south-coastal and north interior districts till June 19.
The state will also receive more rainfall after June 19, it added.
Yellow warning in view of heavy rainfall has been issued for the following districts:
June 15
Heavy rainfall at one or two places in Nabarangpur, Koraput, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Cuttack, Mayurbhanj, Kendrapara, Jajpur and Bargarh.
June 16
Heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places in Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
Heavy rainfall at one or two places in Koraput and Rayagada.
June 17
Heavy rainfall one or two places in Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul and Sundargarh.
June 18
Heavy rainfall at one or two places in Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Angul, Deogarh and Sambalpur.
June 19
Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Bargarh, Sonepur and Dhenkanal.
