Heavy To Very Heavy Rain To Lash 19 Odisha Districts Today; Yellow Warning By IMD Till Aug 4

Bhubaneswar: Heavy to very heavy rain is likely to pound several parts of Odisha for five more days amid the likelihood of formation of a fresh system over the Bay of Bengal.

While rainfall of varied intensity will take place in most parts of the state during the next one week, the intensity of downpour is likely to increase under the influence of a fresh system, which is likely to form over Bay of Bengal by Wednesday.

In its midday bulletin, the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar issued yellow warning of heavy to very heavy rain in at least 19 districts during the next 24 hours.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20 cm) may occur at one or two places of Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, and Cuttack. Similarly, heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Balasore, Bhadrak, Khurda, Nayagarh, Puri, Deogarh, Boudh, Nabarangpur, Koraput, and Malkangiri.
