Bhubaneswar: Even as several parts of Odisha were pounded by downpour in last few days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday said heavy to very heavy rain will continue in many areas for five more days.
In its midday bulletin, the Meteorological Cantre in Bhubaneswar said that rainfall of varied intensity will lash most parts of Odisha for at least a week. Light to moderate rain/thundershower may occur at most places during the period.
The weather agency issued yellow warning of heavy to very heavy rain (7 to 20 cm) in 22 districts during the next 24 hours. Heavy to very heavy rain may occur at one or two places of Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Khurda, Nayagarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Sambalpur, and Bargarh. Similarly, heavy rain (7 to 11cm) is likely to occur at some places of Nuapada, Balangir, Boudh, Kandhamal, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Deogarh, Sonepur, Balasore, Jajpur, and Puri districts during the period.
