New York: Sharing a distorted map of Canada as part of the United States, US President-elect, Donald Trump, took to X and wrote, ‘Oh Canada!’
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberal Party promptly responded to Trump’s post and posted an image clearly segregating the areas that are part of the “United States” and “Not the United States.”

This post comes after Trump threatened the use of “economic force” to absorb Canada into the US. The US president-elect has often expressed his desire to induct Canada into the US as its 51st State. He has even mentioned the same to Trudeau when the later had visited Trump’s Mar-a Lago resort after his latest poll victory.
When Trump was asked whether he would use military power to take control of Canda at recent press conference at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, the president-elect responded: “No, economic force.”
“Because Canada and the United States, that would really be something. You get rid of that artificially-drawn line and you take a look at what that looks like, and it would also be much better for national security — don’t forget, we basically protect Canada,” he had said.
Trudeau took to X to respond after Trump made the remark. “There isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell that Canada would become part of the United States. Workers and communities in both our countries benefit from being each other’s biggest trading and security partner,” Trudeau had said. Interestingly, Trump has not ruled out the use of military force to gain control of Panama Canal and Greenland. “No, I can’t assure you on either of those two, but I can say this, we need them for economic security,” he had told reporters.
