Vadodara: The video of law student Rakshit Chaurasia, booked for mowing down eight people and killing a woman in a rash driving accident in Vadodara, shouting ‘another round, another round’ right after the crash has gone viral on social media. But many are intrigued to find out what it meant actually? Why did Rakshit want ‘another round?’. Though there is no definitive answer to the same, but many believe that the accused seemed to have been inspired by a Danish film. In fact, a report says that police believe his now-infamous ‘another round’ chant was a nod to the film.

A report in the Times of India quoted police as saying that Chaurasia was referring to the film Another Round after he got out of his car. The report also claims that police have found a poster of the film ‘Another Round’ at his rented flat in the city. Another Round, an Oscar winning film, was released in 2020. Starring Mads Mikkelsen, the film is about four high school teachers who experiment with maintaining a constant level of alcohol in their blood to boost creativity and confidence. The film won the Oscar for Best International Feature Film. In Denmark, the film was released under the title Druk (Binge Drinking)

Fresh CCTV footage of the accused out

Three days after the tragic car accident, a fresh CCTV footage of the accused driver has surfaced. The footage that is being circulated on the social media CCTV footage shed light on the moments leading up to the incident. The accused, 20-year-old law student, was caught on camera along with his friend Pranshu at the residence of another friend before the crash, reports Hindustan Times.

The footage shows Rakshit and Pranshu arriving on a scooter. They then engage in conversation before entering the house, reports India Today. Rakshit is seen drinking from a bottle, though the contents remain unclear, reports claim further.

Another clip has reportedly captured the black sedan involved in the accident crossing the road and parking nearby before Pranshu enters the house.

The duo reportedly spent around 45 minutes at the location before leaving in the car. Rakshit, according to reports, was seen switching to the driver’s seat while Pranshu moved to the passenger side.

Vadodara horror

The fatal accident occurred on Friday. A speeding sedan, driven by Rakshit Chaurasia, rammed into multiple two-wheelers in Vadodara. Rakshit appeared drunk in a video shot at the accident site. He is seen stepping out of the car and shouting, “Another round, another round!”

Locals caught Rakshit, who is a native of Varanasi. They later handed him over to the police. Both he and Pranshu were arrested. However, Rakshit denied being drunk. He claimed that the accident occurred due to a pothole.

“We were ahead of the scooty, turning right, and there was a pothole. The car slightly touched the two-wheeler, and the airbag opened suddenly, blocking my vision. The car then went out of control,” Rakshit told ANI. He further claimed that he was driving at only 50 kmph.
